《Monument》探討銅作為數位時代中一種充滿爭議的礦物：它從土地中被開採，用以支撐電子裝置、資料基礎設施，以及不斷擴張的科技進步承諾。作品結合雕塑、動畫與衛星影像，將礦物視為環境檔案，記錄土壤、水分、毒性與微生物活動等條件的變化。
受微生物誘導碳酸鈣沉澱過程啟發，《Monument》將雕塑視為一種經由微生物礦化作用所形塑的載體，而非固定不變的物件。

 

作品追溯微生物、銅與土壤之間的纏結關係，並提問：生物過程如何一方面揭示、另一方面又可能重複電子廢棄物回收中所內嵌的開採系統？在《生物煉金投資公司》（Bioalchemy Capital）的脈絡中，作品進一步質疑：生物科技究竟帶來修復，還是僅僅為污染、生命與土地開啟新的投資形式？
 

Monument investigates copper as a contested mineral of the digital age: extracted from the land to sustain electronic devices, data infrastructures, and the expanding promises of technological progress. Combining sculpture, animation, and satellite imagery, the work considers minerals as environmental archives that record changing conditions of soil, moisture, toxicity, and microbial activity.

 

Inspired by microbial-induced calcium carbonate precipitation process, Monument treats sculpture as a carrier shaped through microbial mineralisation rather than a fixed object. It traces the entanglement of microbes, copper, and soil, asking how biological processes can both reveal and potentially reproduce the extractive systems embedded in e-waste recovery. Within Bioalchemy Capital, the work questions whether biotechnology offers repair, or simply opens contamination, life, and land to new forms of investment.
