Plants rely on the root system to fight for survival conditions, and the roots determine the direction of underground structures by judging the benefits and harms of the environment. The form of root architecture records the instinctive thinking of plants and reflects the physical relationship between the environment and the individual. Based on six Hong Kong people living in different overseas cities in recent years, the work attempts to draw a map of their current residency in foreign places by using the willful and unpredictable way of root growth. In this short excerpt, we record the thoughts of living abroad and rethink the meaning of the map.
